ACCRA / NAIROBI — Venture investment into African tech startups reached a record-breaking $4.2 billion in the first half of the year, driven by expanding mobile money infrastructure and renewable micro-grid innovations.

Data from the African Tech Development Report reveals that Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, and South Africa secured over 70% of total capital, with cross-border payment platforms and AI-driven agricultural supply chain systems attracting international sovereign wealth funds.

Industry analysts highlight the emergence of localized AI solutions built specifically to address logistics and financial inclusion across rural trade corridors.

"African entrepreneurs are skipping legacy infrastructure entirely and deploying hyper-efficient digital platforms directly to consumer devices," noted Kwame Osei, Managing Partner at Pan-African Capital.
